Data and code archive for simulating crop yield (pft_harvestc.clm) at different nitrogen fertilizer input levels for the publication of "Jurak et al: Spatial heterogeneity matters: Trade-off analysis of uniform vs. targeted policies to reduce nitrogen surplus in agriculture". Archive contains:
* Germany-specific soil input file (all soil codes outside Germany are zero, so that standard global inputs can be used but only Germany is simulated 
* R scripts
  * `extract_germany_soilcode.R`: to create that soil input
  * `wheat_area_landing.R`: to extract the wheat growing areas from the LandInG data (Ostberg et al. 2023)
  * `run_sims_nitrogen_germany.R`: to submit the necessary simulations to the PIK HPC "foote" with lpjmlkit (Breier et al. 2024)
  * `analyze_data.R`: to explore some outputs -- this is not used for the final analysis but rather for exploring data
* a csv file with the wheat area for Germany in 2017
* the LPJmL source code in a slightly modified version of version 5.3.001 as used here
* the LPJmL simulation outputs in sub-folders of `sim240926`
