Global crop-specific N2O emissions dataset in 2050 and 2100 under SSP-RCP scenarios at 0.05° resolution
This dataset describes spatially explicit N2O emissions from crops at a global scale under the SSP-RCP scenarios for 2050 and 2100. The dataset is provided in GEOTIFF format, featuring N₂O emissions from major crops such as corn, rice, and wheat, along with other crop types. The data resolution is 0.05°, with emissions expressed in units of g·N/yr.
The simulated data files follow a standardized naming convention “EMxpp_yyyy_c.tif”, where x represents the SSP scenario (1 to 5), pp represents the RCP scenario, yyyy represents the year, and c represents the crop category. For example, the data file named “EM126_2050_corn.tif” corresponds to the N2O emission data from corn for the year 2050 under the SSP1-2.6 scenario.
The related processing codes and files are attached to this record. The GCAM and Demeter models used to generate the dataset are well established and openly available at https://github.com/JGCRI/gcam-core and https://github.com/JGCRI/demeter.
