Anaconda Python upgraded to 4.2.0

In parallel to the existing v2.3.0 of the Anaconda Python distribution, we have installed v4.2.0.

The Anaconda Python distribution version 4.2.0, released on 29th September 2016, has been installed on the cluster.

To use this version, modify your module commands to the following:

module load anaconda/4.2.0

Note that if you use module load without version numbers (highly discouraged!), you will automatically have been using 4.2.0 since 13th October 2016.

The changelog for this (and previous) releases, can be seen here:

https://docs.continuum.io/anaconda/changelog

One notable change is that the MKL-optimised modules (numpy, scikit-learn etc.) are provided license-free by default. This means you may delete the license file ~/.continuum/license_mkl-optimizations_20150709171202.txt

We've attempted to ensure that all modules from 2.3.0 are available in 4.2.0, but should you find any discrepancies, please don't hesitate to open a ticket with .
