Numerical analysis of global economic impacts

The Working Group (WG) Numerical analysis of global economic impacts focuses on the implementation of an investment strategy. The investment strategy will allow for the investigation of different levels of foresight and oversight of the different economic actors and will allow for a better comparison with existing numerical economic models, such as CGEs.

We will compute the impact of local and remotely occurring extreme weather events via global trade on the European economy under different emission scenarios without and with adaptation measures.

The damage-propagation model acclimate will be soft-coupled with a CGE model in order to complement CGE analysis with spatio-temporal dynamics on a daily time scale provided by acclimate. The research will focus on identifying network measures to reduce impacts of extreme weather on the European market, and on identification of options for policy instruments to mitigate adaptation.
