PRIMAP Baseline Reference

The PRIMAP baselines are part of the Emission Module of the PRIMAP (Potsdam Real-time Integrated Model for probabilistic Assessment of emissions Paths, see Nabel et al.). Resulting from runs from the PRIMAP Composite Source Generator (CSG) their aim is to provide composite baseline data for single countries based on what the user assumes to be the “best” data. The PRIMAP CSG is a tool with which composite baselines can be built based on a hierarchy of sources. Values of top level sources are taken directly and complemented by growth rates of lower priority sources. This approach can be applied differentially to sectors, gas (baskets) and countries or regions.

This document describes the original sources, assumptions and approximations used in the construction of the PRIMAP composite baselines.
