The Future of our Climate

Dry and hot summers, melting ice in the polar regions, forest fires not only in Southern Europe and California, but also in the middle of Brandenburg, monsoons and hurricanes in the German capital - is the weather going crazy? The effects of climate change can no longer be dismissed. Is the "summer of the century 2018" a harbinger of a hot time? How will constantly rising temperatures and changing weather conditions affect a region like Brandenburg in the medium and long term? What changes will this development bring to the agricultural sector and other sectors of the economy? Will climate-induced migration be one of the global consequences? Besides director emeritus and founding director of the PIK, Hans Joachim Schellnhuber, Annalena Baerbock, federal chairwoman B90/Die Grünen and MdB for Brandenburg, as well as Ludolf von Maltzan, managing director of the ecological village Brodowin, will discuss the consequences. The discussion will be chaired by science journalist and editor Thomas Prinzler.
