Norms for Dealing with Nature: The Case of Climate Change

Within the 24th Congress of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Philosophie (German Society for Philosophy) at the Humboldt University of Berlin, several forums will take place, designed as bridges from science to society, providing space for discussions about sociopolitical topics. The session "Norms for Dealing with Nature: The Case of Climate Change" combines philosophy, science and public policy perspectives on the challenges of climate change: How to resolve conflicts of justice within and between generations? How to understand and respond to causes and effects that are uncertain and chronologically and geographically dispersed? How to cope with deficient political institutions and still implement just and effective policy solutions? PIK-director John Schellnhuber is discussing with Gabriel Wollner (HU Berlin) and Simon Caney (Warwick University). Entrance is free.
