Long Night of Sciences 2018 at PIK: Climate Research up close!

On a mild June evening, nearly 70 scientific institutions in Berlin and Potsdam are yearly opening their doors for the public. With interactive events, they fascinate the visitors for their work and present up-to-date research results. The Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) is on board again! At PIK, natural and social sciences cooperate closely to examine the climate change and its ecologic, economic and social impacts - and to develop strategies for the sustainable development of Humankind and Nature. Our guests are welcome to look behind the scenes: get to know real climate scientists - and the technical heart of our research: our Supercomputer! There will be a lot of lectures, discussions and information stands about climate change, its impacts and possibilities of action for each end everyone! On top: various activities for the offspring! Come and visit us at the beautiful Telegraph Hill in Potsdam! Tickets available online and on-site. Notice: Lectures and experiments will be in German language (without translation) - but as most of our scientists can converse in English and respond to questions fluently, our exhibitions, information stands and personal encounters are well enjoyable without knowledge of the German language.
