International Workshop: Compensating for Climate Change Impacts?

In light of the debates during COP21 and COP22 on responsibility for climate change-related impacts, this international workshop discusses new approaches on how financial markets, insurances and other risk management measures can compensate loss and damage due to climate impacts, which can neither be avoided by mitigation nor reduced by adaptation. Among other PIK-researchers, Prof. Detlef Sprinz, Prof. Anders Levermann and Dr. Katja Frieler will contribute to this two-day workshop with international experts from policy advisory and insurance business.
