From Neandertal to Silicon Valley - and back?

On the occasion of this year's Dies Academicus of the Deggendorf Institute of Technology, John Schellnhuber gives a keynote lecture under the title "From Neandertal to Silicon Valley - and back?". Schellnhuber is founding director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK), Professor for Theoretical Physics at the University of Potsdam and Research Fellow at the Stockholm Resilience Centre. He was recently awarded with the Blue Planet Prize, which is the world's most prestigious award for pioneers in environmental science. Schellnhuber received the prize for establishing a new field of science, Earth System Analysis, and introducing most influential concepts including the notion of tipping elements in the climate system. Entrance is free, registration is necessary. Event in German language.
