Humanity on the move

On the occasion of the biennal exhibition of architecture in Venice, the Association of German Architects organizes a matinée under the motto "Humanity on the move". This is also the title of the current flagship report of the German Advisory Council on Global Change (WBGU) about the transformative power of cities. PIK-director John Schellnhuber ist co-chairman of the council and discusses with other experts about the topic within the symposium. Online-Lecture: The Climate Change and its Consequences

Reboot of the acclaimed online-course: leading German climate scientists explain climate change and its impacts in a free interdisciplinary Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) for everyone. In five chapters with short video lectures, animations and pictures they depict the basics of climate science, climate impacts and the ensuing challenges for society. Hermann Lotze-Campen, Susanne Grossmann-Clarke and Manfred Stock from the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research contribute input on the impacts of climate change in Germany and worldwide, the risks of sudden and irreversible changes and more.
