My work is focused on spatial production patterns and implications of non-food biomass production as this sector is of increasing importance as a source of agricultural land and water demand. Core of my studies are global model based assessments of land and water resource requirements for various levels of bioenergy crop production to mitigate climate change. Additionally, I investigate climate change impacts on yield and water consumption of traditional non-food biomass production, such as fiber crops for textiles or tea.
