Boyan Yanovski is a member of the FutureLab: Public Economics and Climate Finance. He studied and then did his PhD in Quantitative Economics at the Kiel University. Before coming to PIK he worked as a research assistant at the Kiel University and at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy. At the Kiel University he was doing research within the EU project "Financial Distortions and Macroeconomic Performance: Expectations, Constraints and Interaction of Agents" (FinMaP) .  

Boyan Yanovski is currently working on the topics of climate financethe role of inflation in the transition towards a low carbon economy and in the manifestation of climate change related shocks, the modeling of sector phase-outs, as well as on the topic of green monetary policy.

Furthermore, his research interests and background include the areas of portfolio theory, agent- and networks-based modeling and Post-Keynesian economics.
