M.Sc. Dipl.-Ing. Thiago Garcia

Thiago Garcia has more than 10 years of working experience on sustainable development issues including climate change adaptation and mitigation projects, implementation of renewable energy infrastructure in developing countries, regional development and water policies. At PIK Thiago leads a capacity-building project funded by the German Environmental Ministry together with three developing countries. He has researched and written on official development assistance, multilevel governance of climate policies and on regional development during his Master’s research at the United Nations University in Maastricht, The Netherlands. Thiago also has substantial experience working with subnational governments and environmental agencies on energy infrastructure and environmental policy, including as president of a technical chamber at the State Water Council of Minas Gerais/Brazil. In addition to his Master of Public Policy, Thiago has an MBA in Project Management and an Environmental Engineering degree.
