M.Sc. Clara vom Scheidt

Research Analyst

From July 2021 to April 2022, I work as a research assistant in the project SMART CO2 together with partners from Austria (Geoville, Joanneum Research Institute) and Canada (GHGSat). The goal of my work is to find potential applications of the technical novelties developed in SMART CO2 on localizations of satellite data on carbon levels in the atmosphere, nationally with a focus on Austria and on the EU-level. My focus is on forestry.

From August 2020 to February 2021, I wrote my Master thesis at PIK with Detlef Sprinz as a supervisor on "Forest Carbon in Compliance Carbon Markets" in which I compared the cases of New Zealand, California, and Germany based on 20 qualitative interviews.
