Boris Prahl

Boris is a post-doc at PIK and a member of the research area Climate Change and Development (CCD). His research is focused on the evaluation of climate-change-induced trends in catastrophic risk arising from extreme weather events.

Within the CITIES Flagship, he is in particular involved in the analysis of storm risk in relation to urban agglomerations as part of the EU funded RAMSES project.

His further interests include the potential for adaptation initiatives within insurance policies. Prior to his position at PIK, he was working as adviser in financial risk management within the consultancy branch of KPMG for more than 3 years.
