Olivia Maria Serdeczny, born in 1982, has earned her MA Philosophy at the Freie Universität Berlin. As research analyst at Climate Analytics she provides scientific support to the Least Developed Countries and Small Island Developing States at the climate negotiations, with a particular focus on loss and damage and non-economic losses

In the years 2010 - 2013 she worked as a research analyst for Professor Schellnhuber at the German Advisory Council on Global Change to the Federal Government (WBGU).

In 2012 Olivia, together with John Schellnhuber and Bill Hare, lead and co-authored the World Bank-commissioned report Turn Down the Heat: Why a 4°C Warmer World Must be Avoided, for which she was awarded the World Bank´s Sustainable Development Network VPU Team Award. With the publication of this report the Turn Down the Heat Series by the World Bank was initiated.
