Dr. Anastasia Lobanova

PostDoc
Lobanova

I am a PostDoc at Hydroclimatic Risks Group, working on issues of water availability under climate change, capacity building and stakeholder engagement. I have a diploma in Water Systems Engineering from Russia, a Master of Hydroinformatics from Germany/UK and in 2018 I have finished my PhD at TU Berlin.

Currently, I am leading the Green Central Asia Project @ PIK, which is a part of the Green Central Asia Initiative of the Foreign Office of Germany. We aim to bring together climate science and capacity building to ensure a safer future in Central Asia and Afghanistan. Refer to the project page to know more!

My research interests are:

  • Hydrological and hydraulic modeling
  • sustainable water management and assessment of impacts of climatic change on water resources
  • short and mid-term forecasting
  • stakeholder engagement and cooperation with end-users
  • science-policy transfer
