PhD project:

Climate Engineering on Land: Potentials and side-effects of afforestation and biomass plantations as instruments for carbon extraction

Within the DFG funded SPP on climate engineering, I develop land-use transition scenarios towards global terrestrial carbon dioxide removal strategies. These scenarios are simulated with LPJmL and will be analysed regarding the consequences and trade-offs for the remaining areas with respect to agriculture and biodiversity.

 

Further interests: Land-use and land cover change, biogeophysical and biogeochemical effects on climate, atmospheric circulation, meteorology.
