Bernd Hezel investigates, designs and implements decision support and audio-visual climate change communication formats. As principal investigator in FP7 / Climate KIC / H2020 projects, he lead work on scientific model architecture, co-creation, communication and results exploitation. For the Climate Media Factory (www.climatemedia.de), he decodes climate science results, translates them into useful information, understandable metaphors and narratives of plausible futures and designs suitable media formats. Bernd is one of the authors and directors of the World Bank’s first-ever massive open online course, From Climate Science to Action. He contributed to award-winning theatre productions and wrote and directed many animated short films, several of which won international festivals. In 2010, he received a doctoral degree from Heidelberg University for work in quantum theory.
