Svenja studied Economics at the University of Erfurt and International Development Studies at Philipps University Marburg. Before starting her PhD at PIK, she worked as an intern at the African Climate and Development Initative at the University of Cape Town. Her research focuses on the impact of extreme weather events on human well-being. The geographical focus is Mongolia.
