IT within planetary boundaries

Digitalisation spans all areas, from the future of food, mobility, healthcare to technological innovations where science and technology are developing new applications for AI and Big Data methods. The great challenge for humanity is to reconcile the global sustainability transition of a world within the safe operating space of a resilient and stable planet and the digital revolution, which offers enormous opportunities for human development. As part of the programme for the Hamburger IT Strategie Tage, Johan Rockström, Director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK), will give a presentation on this interplay between global sustainability strategies and IT.
