Hydrometeorological Researches Under The Condition Of Climate Change: Current Challenges And Their Solutions

Dr Bijan Fallah and Dr Iulii Didovets participated in the conference “Hydrometeorological Researches Under The Condition Of Climate Change: Current Challenges And Their Solutions”, Tashkent, Uzbekistan on 3rd and 4th of June in 2022.

Iulii Didovets gave a talk about climate change impacts on water resources in Central Asia where presented the results of river discharge changes in eight representative river basins across the region under different climate scenarios. This work was recently published and cited by the last Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report.

Bijan Fallah presented his work on recent and future climate change in Central Asia where showed that extreme climatic events increase in duration, expansion, and intensity in Central Asia. In particular, extreme events like more summer and less icing days might expose extremely unprecedented shock on vulnerable components of the climate system like permafrost and glaciers in Central Asia.
