Congratulations Dr. Landholm Haight!

01/09/2021 - David Landholm successfully defended his PhD thesis entitled “Cross-Scale Drivers of Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Local Solutions for Climate Change Mitigation" at the Humboldt University of Berlin.
Congratulations Dr. Landholm Haight!

David’s thesis advances knowledge on the underlying drivers of deforestation and associated GHG emissions, namely on the role of international commodity markets and armed conflict in forest loss dynamics. In addition, this thesis also explores local solutions for GHG mitigation in the land sector through silvopastoral systems, and, more broadly, examines the role of behavioral change in driving mitigation across multiple sectors through the lens of grassroots organizations. The thesis includes four publications – three accepted in Global Environmental Change, Regional Environmental Change, and PLOS One
