EPICC Project Management

Project Lead

Dr. Kira Vinke is the EPICC Project Lead and a researcher at the nexus of climate change and migration. In 2019 Dr. Vinke was recognized as the first political scientist to receive the Potsdam Young Scientist Award for her doctoral dissertation. Previously she worked on consulting and analyst roles for a number of international research and development organizations, such as the German Development Cooperation (GIZ), the German Advisory Council on Global Change (WBGU) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

As the EPICC Project Lead, Dr. Vinke is setting the strategic directions of the project and making sure that the vision for better adaptation to climate change can be made possible for the partner countries and beyond. Furthermore, she is establishing stronger connections internally between the interdisciplinary team of scientists as well as externally with the vast array of international project partners and stakeholders.
