Reading Data from the Meta Data Base: OracleForm "readMDB"
General
For data retrieval from the CERA-2 meta database the Oracle Form "readMDB"
can be used. It allows queries on all CERA Tables.
Using the Form
To use the form, all Oracle commands of the menu can be applied, except
insert, remove, and update commands.
In any of the blocks a data query can be entered. To transfer the result
to the other blocks use the button "Query last result" which repeats the
last query for all blocks.
Similarly, entries can be picked up by doubleclicking on the ENTRY_ID; a
click on the "Query picked" button will then retrieve just these
CERA Entries in all blocks of the form.
In all blocks but the first one, there may be more than one record belonging
to the corresponding entry in the first block. The different entries can
be viewed by using the horizontal scrollbar at the bottom of the block or
by using the up/down arrows.
Block and Table Structure
The Form is divided into several Oracle blocks that mostly refer to the CERA
blocks. For each block a corresponding view was created by the SQL script
views_read.sql.
Pages are optimized for NETSCAPE.
