Herein, we presenting subsidies to build an oil hydro-carbon biomonitoring system based in the biofisic characteristics of the electric organ discharges (EODs) of the Amazonian electric knifefishes (Gymnotiformes). Using the EODs proprieties, one species of the Apteronotidae family was selected to biomonitoring studies, among those more abundant species that inhabit rivers in the surrounding Manaus-AM. The study of apteronotids EODs allowed the confection of specifics algorithms to MatLab? (toolboxes Wavelet,s and CRP - NDG Univ. Potsdam). Wavelets and recurrence analyses were utilized, in addition to the traditional method of spectrum density based in the fast fourrier transformation (FFT). Apteronotus hasemani was the species elected, and it waveform standard patterns were established. Using the waveform standard patterns a method was established to detect different concentrations of BTX (2, 10, 20 e 100 mg/L) for each specimen of A. hasemani. Considering that the water soluble fraction of the oil, the composites of BTX (benzene, toluene and xylenes) are more toxics and less hidrophobics. Using this methodology was possible to infer on the positive detection of BTX for specimens of A. hasemani with the minimal concentration of 10 mg/L.
