Results

The dynamics of the extended geophysiological model introduced in the previous section is integrated numerically. We present here results of extensive investigations performed on a powerful parallel computer (IBM SP2). In general, the cellular automaton was implemented on finite 2D-lattices (tex2html_wrap_inline1267) with periodic boundary conditions. It should be mentioned that all the following results have been achieved using model B, i.e., the growth probability depends on the temperature according to Eq. 11.
