Expected
Impacts
The central
product of the project represents a policy guide, which will be broadly
applicable, i.e. also to other than the specific case study regions.
It will allow stakeholders (e.g. urban planners in different regions)
confronted with problematic urban sprawl to identify their
typical functional pattern of sprawl together with pattern related recommendations
for general policies. Furthermore they will find region specific examples
for the detailed realisation of these policies. The policy guide will
be available in a book form, in a CD-ROM format, and as a web page document.
Besides
this central integrated result, the detailed studies of the seven case
regions can be expected to have some impact on urban planning and administration
in these regions.
A book
on the scientific results of the URBS PANDENS project will be produced.
Journal articles relating to the project will also be published in peer-reviewed
journals.
A dissemination
strategy will be set up at an early stage and continuously developed
within the course of the project. This will be a major issue, in which
all the partners will be involved. Through ICLEIs (International
Council for Local Environmental Initiatives) participation, its experiences
as an international agency and clearinghouse and the existing publication
structures, the dissemination will be performed efficiently. ICLEI will
run a series of conferences, seminars and training courses for governmental
and non-governmental audiences.
