FAVAIA Activity 2: Tools
The FAVAIA project aims at implementing the concepts of the formal framework in form of compuational tools that can be used for assessing vulnerability.
One of the tools produced is DIVA, a dynamic and interactive tool for asssessing coastal vulnerability.It was developed within the EU project DINAS-COAST
(Dynamic and INteractive ASsessment of National, Regional and Global Vulnerability of COASTal Zones to Climate Change and Sea-Level Rise). DIVA builds on methods and knowledge from a wide range of scientific and technical domains and develops a innovative and interdisciplinary method dor dynamical and interactive assessment of costal vulnerability in different regions.
In
DINAS-COAST wurde die DIVA-Methode angewendet, um ein Software-Tool zu
liefern, das seine Benutzer befähigt, quantitative Information zu
einer großen Anzahl von Indikatoren für Vulnerabilität in
Küstengebieten, unter Verwendung benutzergewählter klimatischer und
sozio-ökonnmischer Szenarien und Adaptionsstrategien auf nationaler,
regionaler und globaler Ebene bezüglich aller Küstennationen, zu
produzieren.
Ziel
dieser Aktivitaet ist die weitere Entwicklung und
die Anwendung der DIVA Methode und des DIVA Tools, einschliesslich des
Erweitertern der Funktionalität, des Hinzufügen zusätzlicher Szenarien
und Module und der Implementierung regionaler Versionen.
Zusätzlich wird DIVA zu einer Komponente eines verteilten integrierten Beurteilungsmodells werden.
