The Research Domain (RD) II is organized into 3 Research Fields, within which RD II Flagship Projects are the focus of research activities. --> see Research Structure Research fields have a life span on the order of 7 years, flagship projects of 3 years.
Each research field and each flagship project is coordinated by a research area/project leader who is responsible for coordination, synthesis and strategy and who answers to the domain chairs. RD2 scientists usually contribute to more than on research area or project but have a primary focus.
