LPJ & LPJmL Web Distribution Portal
This web page is the distribution, documentation and discussion platform of the LPJ Dynamic Global Vegetation Model (DGVM) and its extension to human land use, LPJmL (LPJ for managed Lands).
LPJ is a dynamic global simulation model of vegetation biogeography and vegetation/soil biogeochemistry. Taking climate, soil and atmospheric information as input, it dynamically computes spatially explicit transient vegetation composition in terms of plant functional groups, and their associated carbon and water budgets.
LPJmL additionally simulates the carbon and water budgets of agricultural lands and of land use change; it is being extended to include forestry. It takes as inputs land use and land management data.
This LPJ Web Distribution Portal provides access to versions of LPJ and LPJ/mL coordinated and maintained at PIK in collaboration with contributors. Development of LPJ at PIK is supported by PIK's research fields I (Earth System Analysis) and II (Climate Impacts and Vulnerabilities).
