ISIS - The Sea-Ice Model
The sea-ice model used in CLIMBER-3α is the Ice and Snow Interfaces
(ISIS) model developed
at the Institut d'Astronomie et de Géophysique Georges Lemaître (Fichefet and Maqueda, 1997), also included in the CLIO model
from that institution (Goosse and Fitchefet, 1999).
It is a two-dimensional (latitude-longitude) thermodynamic-dynamic model with one layer of ice and one layer of snow. As the ocean model, it uses a horizontal staggered Arakawa B-grid with a resolution of 3.75° × 3.75°.
