Biosketch

Roy is Professor in Environmental Management and Director of the Centre for Environmental Management (CEM) in the School of Geography, University of Nottingham, and formerly led the Environmental Science and Policy Group (ESPG) within the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology (CEH). Although trained as a natural scientist, he has sought to develop a stronger social content in his recent work. He has worked extensively with the policy makers in Central Government and it agencies, and recognises the need to develop a science that is responsive to the wider public debates about environmental issues. He is adviser for environmental issues to research councils, but also Governmental Agencies.
