Biosketch
Mark Rounsevell is Professor of Rural Economy and Sustainability within the School of Geosciences (http://www.geos.ed.ac.uk/), University of Edinburgh and is the Director of the School’s Centre for the study of Environmental Change and Sustainability (CECS). His research focuses on the effects of environmental, socio-economic and policy change on rural and peri-urban land use systems and the modelling of land use change processes at different spatial scales. He is applying foresight analysis to rural and peri-urban areas by developing land use change scenarios in Europe and worldwide. He is a Lead Author to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) 2nd, 3rd and 4th Assessment Reports (Working Group II).
