Prof. Wolfgang Lucht, Chair of Research Domain II on Climate Impacts and Vulnerabilities at Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK), will hold his Inaugural Lecture on "What's the core problem of sustainability?" for the Alexander-von-Humboldt Chair in Sustainability Science, Institute of Geography, Humboldt University on Wednesday, 6 May 2009.

The lecture will be held in Berlin-Adlershof at Erwin-Schrödinger-Centre at Humboldt University. It is framed by a scientific symposium on the occasion of the anniversary of the death of Alexander von Humboldt.
Before the lecture, keynote addresses will be given by the Federal Minister of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection, Ilse Aigner, and the chairman of the German Commission on Sustainable Development, Volker Hauff.
