13 June 2009 Long Night of the Sciences
The ninth Berlin- and Potsdam-wide Long Night of the Sciences will be held on June 13, 2009. The Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) will be participating with numerous presentations, lectures, and talks on the issues global change, climate impacts and sustainable solutions. The interdisciplinary character of the Institute will be reflected in the participation of scientists from all the disciplines represented at PIK. We are looking forward to your visit.

The Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities in Essen (KWI), Stiftung Mercator in cooperation with the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) and Wuppertal Institute for Climate Environment and Energy will host the international academic conference.

Prof. Wolfgang Lucht, Chair of Research Domain II on Climate Impacts and Vulnerabilities at Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK), will hold his Inaugural Lecture on "What's the core problem of sustainability?" for the Alexander-von-Humboldt Chair in Sustainability Science, Institute of Geography, Humboldt University on Wednesday, 6 May 2009.
