Olivia Maria Serdeczny, born in 1982, has earned her MA Philosophy at the Freie Universität Berlin. In the years 2010 - 2013 she worked as a research analyst for Professor Schellnhuber at the German Advisory Council on Global Change to the Federal Government (WBGU).

In 2012 Olivia, together with John Schellnhuber and Bill Hare, coordinated and co-authored the World Bank-commissioned report Turn Down the Heat: Why a 4°C Warmer World Must be Avoided, for which she was awarded the World Bank´s Sustainable Development Network VPU Team Award. In 2013 Olivia further coordinated and co-authored the follow-up report Turn Down the Heat: Climate Extremes, Regional Impacts, and the Case for Resilience, also commissioned and published by the World Bank. More information, including a video statement by World Bank President Jim Yong Kim, regional summaries and the executive summary translated into Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish, can be found at the World Bank´s website.
