A Bayesian Approach to German Agricultural Yield Expectations

Supplementary Material


On this page, you can find supplementary material for a paper analyzing the development of German Agricultural Yield Expectations, using a Bayesian approach. The paper has been published in the Agricultural Finance Review Spring 2008 issue. Files that can be downloaded here are

1) An excel sheet containing German national level yield data for winter wheat, cereals and corn 1950-2006, as used in the updating programme

2) The code for carrying out the updating procedure and producing graphics. For running it, python, gnuplot and the module transcendental (freeware, available at http://bonsai.ims.u-tokyo.ac.jp/~mdehoon/software/python/special.html) have to be installed.

3) The same code, but as a .pdf file, for reading only.

4) Graphics showing the development of hypotheses' weights for some Western German Federal countries, updating on cereal yield data 1950-2006.
