Biosketch
Uta Fritsch has been working in several European vulnerability research projects at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK). In 2005 she contributed as a coauthor to the report “Climate Change in Germany – Vulnerability and Adaptation of Climate sensitive Systems” funded by the German Federal Environment Agency and to the report “Vulnerability and Adaptation to Climate Change Impacts in Europe” (European Environmental Agency, Technical Report No 07/2005). She has been a tutor during the last five years for the summer schools in Peyresq (AVEC and ALTER-Net). For her PhD at the University of Potsdam in the department of Geo-ecology and PIK she was developing and modeling land-use scenarios for investigating the influence of land-use changes on flood runoff generation. Since then her interests have shifted towards science communication. She is currently working for a project called EURAC junior that aims at a permanent interface between science and schools.
