Transdisziplinäre Konzepte und Methoden - Forschungsbereich IV
The research domain "Transdisciplinary Concepts and Methods – TCM" develops climate impact research in those areas where concepts and methods are found wanting. It does so guided by stakeholder dialogues and using mathematics as a tool to meet conceptual challenges.
Flagship Projects
- Complex networks and synchronization (Speaker: J. Kurths and Y. Zou):
Is the complex interacting networks approach appropriate to study challenging problems of changing climate and their impact on geoecological and socio-economic systems?
- Time Series Analysis (Speaker: N. Marwan)
How can we improve the knowledge about extreme events and climate transitions in past, presence, and future under explicit consideration of uncertainties, missing information, and highly complex relationships?
- A Model of the German Economy (Speaker: C. Jaeger):
How can the problem of equilibrium selection on interdependent markets be solved in view of the transition to a low carbon economy in Germany?
