The AVEC kick-off meeting in Basel, May 16-17, 2002

Our AVEC kick-off meeting took place at the Botanical Institute of the University of Basel. It was kindly hosted by Christian Körner. The meeting was extremely motivating and constructive. Chaired by Wolfgang Cramer, we discussed goals and concepts of AVEC, ATEAM and the Millennium Assessment. A great deal of enthusiasm, ideas and action items were developed about the AVEC workshops, commissioned papers and especially the AVEC summer school. Dates and venues were set and first titles were found.
