| The Climate
Media Factory (CMF) started as a joint project of Potsdam Institute
for Climate Impact Research and Film
University Babelsberg "Konrad Wolf" in 2009.
During this time it was supported by the Federal Ministry for
Education and Research and the European Climate-KIC and according
to the program support regulations it was converted into a spin-off
by the founders KD Müller
and JP Kropp. Since 2014 CMF is also a member of the Climate-KIC network
in 2014.
It is our philosophy to develop
scientifically sound and entertaining climate media and
climate services. Our products range from animated
movies, documentations, serious games,
education/training tools, web-based climate services and
consultancy and are developed exclusively or with
partners. Climate Media Factory and its products received
several awards, for example, the CleanTech
Media Award in 2012 (cf. right). In 2013 we were
nominated for the Award
ZEIT WISSEN "Encouraging Sustainability".
Furthermore, our products have been screened at
several international festivals and were already
awarded or have been nominated for various awards,
e.g. Deauville Green Awards, International Short Film
Festival Berlin, Think Forward Film Festival, San
